SENATORS GAME RECAP

ERIE SHUTS DOWN SENATORS, 7-0
SeaWolves take two of three

The Harrisburg Senators couldn’t solve Erie LHP Luke French as they were blanked, 7-0, Wednesday afternoon at Commerce Bank Park. Harrisburg managed just three base hits.

French went eight scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out three. Casey Fein worked a scoreless ninth to close it out. The two combined to retire the final 17 Senators in a row.

Erie jumped ahead with single runs in each of the first two innings. Freddy Guzman walked, stole second and scored on Danny Worth’s RBI single to make it 1-0. In the second, Jeff Frazier singled, moved to second on a single by Will Rhymes and scored on a base hit by Kody Kirkland.

The SeaWolves plated another run in the top of the fifth and blew it open with four runs in the top of the seventh.

Marco Estrada (1-2) took the loss for the Senators. He allowed three runs on eight hits through five innings. The Senators drop to 12-7 on the season. French improved to 1-2 for the 10-9 SeaWolves.

The Senators hit the road for a seven-game swing against the Akron Aeros and Altoona Curve. Akron sends right-hander Kevin Dixon to the mound. Harrisburg’s starter is to be determined.
