SENATORS GAME RECAP

ERIE SLUGS OUT 12-2 WIN OVER SENATORS
Four-game win streak snapped

The Harrisburg Senators fell behind 12-0 after the top of the sixth and lost to the Erie SeaWolves, 12-2, Tuesday at Commerce Bank Park. The loss snaps Harrisburg’s four-game win streak.

Erie scored runs in each of the first six innings. Eight of the nine hitters in the starting lineup had base hits for the SeaWolves as they cruised to the win.

Starter Ben Fritz went 6.1 innings for Erie, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits, two walks and three strikeouts to pick up the win.

The Senators got single runs in the sixth and seventh innings. William Bergolla’s RBI single plated Mike Daniel to make it 12-1. In the seventh, Ian Desmond blooped a single into left field that glanced off the left fielder’s glove, allowing Andrew LeFave to score.

Josh Hall (1-2) took the loss for the Senators, who drop to 12-6 on the season. Fritz won his first decision of the year for the 9-9 SeaWolves.

The teams play the rubber game of their three-game set Wednesday in a 12:05 PM start at Commerce Bank Park. RHP Marco Estrada takes the ball as the starting pitcher for the Senators and is opposed by Erie LHP Luke French.
