SENATORS GAME RECAP

SENATORS FALL IN SLUGFEST 13-11
Armando Camacaro homers twice for Akron

Looking for their first home three game sweep since 2006, the Senators got off to a great start but couldn't keep the Aero's offense in check and fell to Akron 13-11. The Senators finished the three-game series with a 2-1 record and Akron moved to 1-2.

The Senators started with five in the first inning highlighted by a two-run single by Luis Jimenez, an rbi single by Yurendell Decaster and a two-run double by Andrew Lefave. But from there, it was Akron's turn to get well. The Aero's scored four in the second and in the third then tacked on a run in the sixth to make it 9-5.

The Senators then fought back scoring three runs in the sixth to close the score to 9-8 but Akron again responded in their next at bat. Off of Mike Hinckley in the top of the seventh, Armando Camacaro homered for the second time in the game this time a grand slam to put Akron on top 13-8.

But the Sens weren't done, they bounced back with a run in the last of the seventh to close to 13-9. In the last of the ninth, Decaster gave the fans hope by hitting a one out two-run home run to close the game to 13-11 but that's all they could do in the ninth.

Mike Daniel and Decaster both had four hits for the Senators in the losing effort. Through their first three games, the Senators pounded out six home runs and scored 27 runs. The team is batting over .300 collectively as a team.

On Monday night the Erie SeaWolves make their way to Commerce Bank Park for the first time this season. The Sens send RH Marco Estrada to the mound against LH Danny Christiansen for Erie. Game time on Monday night is 6:05 with the airtime on 1460 The Ticket at 5:50pm.
