METS STIFFLE THE SENS 6-1
Salomon Manriquez homers for only Senators run
In front of 5,168 at Commerce Bank Park the Senators fell to the Binghamton Mets 6-1. For the third straight game the Senators didn't muster much early offense, but unlike Friday night, the couldn't rally late against the Mets bullpen. Binghamton scored a pair of runs in the first off of Senators starter Beltran Perez. Perez settled down and held the Mets scoreless into the fourth inning when the mets received four straight two out hits to produce three runs and take a 5-0 lead. The Mets tacked on a run in the sixth on a wild pitch to go up 6-0. The only Senators run of the evening was off the bat of Salomon Manriquez who hit a solo home run in the seventh inning. Manriquez had three hits in the game to pace the Senators. Harrisburg is now 40-33 on the season while Binghamton improves to 33-41. Game two of the series is Sunday afternoon at 1:05pm with RHP Kip Bouknight on the mound for the Senators against RHP Mike Pelfry for the Mets.
