SENATORS WIN SECOND STRAIGHT OVER THE SEA DOGS
Senators win 6-4 and now 8-1 at home
On a cold, damp Friday night the Senators beat the Portland Sea Dogs 6-4 in front of 2,099 fans at Commerce Bank Park. The Senators scored all their runs in the first three innings and then hung on for the win. Devern Hansack, the Sea Dog starter, wild pitched in two runs in the first for a 2-0 Senator lead. Tony Blanco hit a solo homer in the second, and Frank Diaz added a two-run homer in the third to give the Senators a 6-2 lead. Josh Whitesell doubled in the 8th inning to extend his hitting streak to eight games. The Senators had five extra base hits out of their seven total, the second game in a row the Senators have had five extra base hits. Shawn Hill started and earned his first win of the year for the Senators and Roy Corcoran recorded his sixth save of the year. The Senators are now 10-6 on the season and Portland falls to 7-8. The series continues on Saturday night with a 6:05pm start. The game can be heard on 1460 The Ticket beginning at 5:50pm.
